Catherine is BLB’s Joint Managing Partner, a role she shares with Richard Bowater. As such she is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day administration, developing and implementing our strategy for growth, and ensuring our clients receive the best possible service. She also has direct management responsibility for our Swindon office.
Catherine is an experienced matrimonial and family law solicitor, able to advise on all consequences of relationship breakdown, with particular interests in financial issues and the difficulties involved with relocation of children, whether within the UK or abroad.
Catherine worked previously for the NHS and has a clear understanding of the pressures involved in working in the public sector, as well as the particular issues impacting on public sector workers when relationships break down.
Catherine recognises that there are many practical and emotional difficulties associated with relationship breakdown and works with her clients to achieve the best outcome for each individual.
She is a member of Resolution and believes strongly that it is better to try to resolve disputes in a cooperative and constructive way. Her ability to communicate in plain English and to ensure that her clients understand their options fully before making a decision make her a popular choice for clients. If, however, it is clear that matters cannot be resolved without starting court proceedings, Catherine will promote her clients’ interests in a robust and pragmatic way.
