Can I change my solictor?

Click here to arrange your free, no obligation consultation with one of our specialist solicitors. Alternatively, call us on 01225 462871.

We have an outstanding 97% success rate. No win/No fee available.

Yes, absolutely, you can change your solicitor.

And if you do, you are certainly not alone – many people change their solicitor. This is usually because they become disillusioned and frustrated by poor service, inadequate advice and a general lack of knowledge and understanding.

Sadly, rather than representing you properly, most law firms will simply process your compensation claim through an online sausage machine.

Is your solicitor handling your claim competently?

If you have been seriously injured, ensuring you are properly and fully compensated involves a complex process. Your solicitor needs a detailed understanding of both you and your condition and how it might affect you, not just now but in the future. They must adopt a forensic approach to evidence gathering and a tactical approach to your claim.

Put simply, if the correct approach is not adopted, there is a high chance that your claim will fail altogether or you will end up substantially undercompensated.

Common complaints

Among the most common complaints we hear about other firms are:

  • Constant changes of solicitor.
  • The person dealing with the claim is not qualified.
  • Medical reports are inadequate and/or erroneous.
  • The solicitor refuses to challenge the medical expert.
  • The solicitor does not understand the case or is just disinterested.
  • The claim has not been investigated properly or at all.
  • There is huge pressure to settle quickly.
  • There has been little or no discussion about treatment and rehabilitation.
  • No interim payments have been applied for or received.

Does this sound familiar?

Do I have to put up with this?

No you don’t. Your solicitor cannot prevent you changing representation.

Should you instruct us to take over your claim you will not have to deal further with your current solicitor. We will handle that for you.

How are BLB Solicitors different?

We are a specialist team comprising only senior solicitors. No two claims are ever the same, so we avoid standardisation. Rather, we work closely with you – a team approach tailored to you, your injuries, your circumstances and crucially, your future. New clients often comment that for the first time somebody is actually listening to them!

Our priority initially is ensuring you can access the treatment and rehabilitation you need to maximise your chance of recovery. At the same time we do everything possible to obtain interim payments keep your head above water financially. Clearly, you can’t focus entirely on your rehabilitation if you have to worry constantly about paying your household bills.

What can you expect when you call?

When you call:

  • You will speak direct to one of our specialist solicitors.
  • There is no charge for speaking to us and you will not be hurried – we want to fully understand your claim and your circumstances. Equally, you will have many questions for us.
  • There will be no pressure on you to instruct us. On the contrary, we want you to be entirely happy and comfortable with us before you make that important decision.
  • Should you decide to instruct us, wherever possible we try to ensure you will be represented by the solicitor you have spoken to already.
  • We will formulate with you a proposed plan of action so that you know exactly what steps we will take from day one to get your claim back on track.
  • While it may seem unusual these days, we are solicitors who do like to meet our clients! If travelling to see us is difficult, wherever you live, we may be able to see you at home or at another location more convenient for you.
