Overview

 We are looking for a confident and experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor or CILEx (3+ years PQE) to join our growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a key role in a well-regarded and supportive firm, handling a varied caseload of complex and high-value disputes.

The role

 You will manage your own caseload of contentious probate matters, including:

  • Will challenges (validity, undue influence, lack of capacity).
  • Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
  • Executor/Trustee disputes.
  • Disputes over estate administration and interpretation.
  • Court of Protection disputes (where relevant).

You will work closely with the wider Private Client and Dispute Resolution teams, and will be encouraged to contribute to business development and the ongoing success of the department.

About you

 You will be:

  • A qualified Solicitor or CILEx with at least 3 years’ solid experience in contentious probate.
  • Comfortable working with high net worth clients and sensitive, often emotionally charged issues.
  • Commercially aware, pragmatic, and confident in giving clear, strategic advice.
  • Well-organised, with a proactive and collaborative working style.
  • Keen to build your profile in this specialist area and develop long-term client relationships.

ACTAPS membership (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
