Employee Benefits

At BLB, we invest heavily in our colleagues and take pride in offering a supportive and encouraging work environment. In particular, we offer the following:

Pension

  • The firm contributes 3% of your qualifying earnings into the scheme.

Annual Leave

  • 25 working days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays and discretionary Christmas closure.

Long Service Benefits

  • One additional day of annual leave (pro rata) will be awarded after 10 years of service and every subsequent five years of service, up to a maximum of four additional days.
  • After five years’ service, half a day’s holiday per year will be awarded if your birthday falls on a working day.
  • Upon achieving 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service at the firm, employees will receive a £100 gift voucher and a bottle of champagne or a hamper.

Gifts and Financial Benefits

  • Christmas Gift vouchers.
  • Gifts and celebrations upon marriage, civil partnership, becoming a parent or moving house.
  • Reduced legal fees.
  • £100 gift voucher for successful recruitment referral (given after a successful interview and acceptance from the candidate).

Parental Benefits

  • An entire day off for your child’s first-ever day at school.
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Pay payable after 2 years’ service. Subject to strict conditions (as per the Staff Handbook), including being repayable to the firm if the employee does not return to work (note, statutory pay is not repayable).

Professional Development

  • Support and funding, including professional fees and paid study leave, are available for staff who wish to gain further professional qualifications.

Health and Wellbeing

  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Flexible Working Arrangements: on a case-by-case basis, subject to management approval.
  • Eye Tests: The firm will cover the cost of an eye test up to a value of £25. If glasses are required for computer work, the firm will contribute £50 towards the cost of glasses.
  • Wellbeing Clinic: Each year, throughout January and February, we run a Wellbeing Clinic, where employees can book a 30 minute session to discuss anything wellbeing related.
  • Monthly arranged walks.
  • Monthly fresh fruit delivery.

Social

  • Annual Christmas and summer parties are paid for by the firm.

Charity/Fundraising Day and Matching

  • Subject to an application process and management’s prior approval:
  • Employees will be given one additional day of annual leave per year for charitable or fundraising events.
  • If you are doing a fundraising activity (e.g. running a marathon, doing a sponsored silence or shaving your head) for a charity or community cause, we would love to match any funds you raise up to the value of £250.

Life Events

  • Bottle of champagne or hamper on employees’ birthdays.
  • £100 voucher as wedding support.
  • £100 voucher on becoming a parent.
  • £100 voucher on moving house.

Miscellaneous

  • Monthly cakes or ice lollies for staff in the office (weather permitting!).
  • Driving Lessons: If you have at least 2 years’ service, we will pay up to £200 towards driving lessons.
