RUH’s Wills month – £33,000 raised for the Forever Friends Appeal

Regular readers of our blog will remember that back in September BLB Solicitors took part in the RUH ‘s Wills month to raise funds for the Forever Friends Appeal, along with sixteeen other local solicitors An incredible £33,000 was raised for the charity.

The participating solicitors volunteered their time and expertise to write Wills for local people, helping them to put their affairs in order whilst supporting their local hospital.

This new initiative offered the general public the opportunity to have a Will professionally drawn up at a reduced cost, with fees waived by the solicitors and donated directly to the RUH’s charity.

Jan Witt, Legacy Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal said: “We are very extremely grateful to all the solicitors who came on board to support us and we are absolutely delighted with the success of our first ever RUH Will Month scheme. All the solicitors worked extremely hard to help as many people as possible to get the protection of a proper Will drawn up.”

BLB Solicitor James Trescothick-Martin commented, “I have received treatment in the RUH on more than one occasion and also having had family members treated there, it is great to be able to give something back. Also, as a Law Firm with strong and well established roots not just in Bath but in the surrounding area as well, we believe that supporting our community is one of our responsibilities.”
