BLB Solicitors has announced a rare change of management, only the second in our 42 year history. Stephen Bishop has stepped down as managing partner, although remains with the firm as head of residential property.
Our new joint managing partners are Richard Bowater, who will continue to head the commercial property team, and Catherine Smith, head of our Swindon office.
“After 13 years in the role, I am very proud that I can pass on the management of a very successful and thriving firm,” said Stephen. “We are confident that Richard and Catherine will steer us to even greater success in the future.”
Commenting on his new role, Richard said, “I am delighted to be joining forces with Catherine to ensure that Stephen’s excellent work continues. It’s a time that’s full of opportunities both locally and further afield. We already have a superb team at BLB and I have had the pleasure of working with them for several years now. I am relishing leading BLB into the next chapter.”
Catherine, a family lawyer who has led our Swindon office since 2016 said, “I was delighted to be invited to step up into this leadership role within such a flourishing and forward-thinking firm. We already have an exceptional team at BLB, who provide a high level of service to our clients. I am very much looking forward to the future.“
