BLB Solicitors, Old Mill Group and HSBC hosted a successful evening seminar entitled “”Going for Growth”” at the Hilton Hotel in Bath on Thursday 2 May 2013.
The event was very well attended, with delegates listening to a series of interesting talks on the topic of growing your business.
Tim Lerwill, Director of Old Mill Group, spoke about how business owners and managers should be harnessing the experience and contacts of their accountant when thinking about growing their business. Rob Matson, a Commercial Manager at HSBC, gave a talk about the essential issue of securing funding to grow your business. Frank Scott-Ashe, Partner at BLB Solicitors, discussed the legal aspects of using debt and shares in a private limited company to help grow the business and focussed in particular on the legal documentation typically involved.
Finally the keynote speaker, William Heath, co-founder of Mydex Community Interest Company, gave a thought provoking and heart felt talk about personal data, its value , which he argued is not fully appreciated, and how in his opinion we should be aiming to restore control over personal data to the individual . This was followed by a lively Q&A session.
