Last Saturday 3rd June, BLB’s Millie Bryant-Pearson parachuted out of a plane over Salisbury Plain and in so doing raised over £560 for the RUH’s Forever Friends Appeal.
It was a sunny but windy day at Netheravon, the home of the Army Parachute Association, as Millie, strapped to an instructor, parachuted out of a plane at a height of 13,000 feet. During the free fall phase of the jump, which lasts about 45 seconds, the parachutists hit speeds of up to 120 mph.
Several of Millie’s BLB colleagues, together with Millie’s family, made the journey down to Netheravon to cheer her on.
Millie said afterwards , “It was the most terrifying and exhilarating 8 minutes of my life and I can’t wait to do it again!”
